Texas Blue Bonnets

$0.99 USD

Seed Count: Approx. 30 seeds

Days to Maturity: Annual

Description: Texas Bluebonnets are a hardy winter annual native to the state of Texas.  It is well known for being the state flower, and for good reason too, since that beautiful hue of blue just can't be beat.  The flowers grow densely, and produce spikes of bright, deep, blue flowers with ice white tips.  They grow between 6-18 inches tall, and are some of the first to emerge in the Spring.  It can be sown in containers, raised beds, or directly in your soil.  However, keep in mind that Bluebonnets are notoriously picky, hate poorly drained soil, and prefer to thrive in poor soil types and drought like conditions.  They aren't the easiest flower to get established, but once you do, you'll be rewarded with a spectacular blue view that people travel just to see.
